:) I had my gastric bypass surgery on June 9,2009. I have done very well with little pain and have tolerated taking liquids well. My biggest issue was with the required protein drinks. I tried a half dozen and each one made me want to vomit. It was a great struggle to get one down and I dreaded knowing I would need to continue to take these. A few days ago I spoke with a friend who is a doc with a special interest in protein and vitamin and mineral supplements. He told me he had sampled over 200 protein drinks and that most were absolutely horrible but that he had found one that tasted fine and even his children take regularly. The brand is VPX Zero Carbs. It has 20 grams of whey protein, zero carbs and zero fat. I ordered the chocolate and it actually tastes like chocolate milk when miked with skim milk. I ordered it on line and it was delivered in 48 hours. Posted this in case anyone else is struggling with the protein products.

I also have had trouble with protein drinks being palatable. I recently discovered Designer Whey Choc, Vanilla and Strawberry on the GNC aisle at Rite Aid. It mixes well. I like it with Skim milk plus which gives another 11 grams of protein. I will try the one you mentioned. After a year it is always good finding different kinds.

Recently I started adding fruit (especially banana) into my protein drink, and it gives it a different (better) taste.

I also recommend trying to purchase some sugar-free extract/flavoring.

I have been using a pre mixed can from The Vitimin Shoppe. It's called "Worldwide Pure Protein Shake" It has 35 grams of protien 4 grams of Carbs and is 160 calories.
Many yummy flavors and you can buy them as single cans in the refrigerator section or by the case.

I have tried many kinds of protein drinks. When mixed with Skim Milk Plus they are much more palatable. I like Designer Whey. You can get it in Rite Adid on the GNC aisle or at GNC. Comes in choc, van, and strawberry. Mixes well, no lumps.
